Every morning, I wake up and wonder what does the day hold for you? Happiness, business results, or something for society to feel the energy, compassion and independence. It is essential to choose a life that embraces humanity. To me embracing humanity is focusing on the education of under-privileged supporting the girl child and also caring for a geriatric patient who needs basic affection.
No country has attained economic growth without basic primary education. According to statistics, 72 million children of primary school age are not in school worldwide, 60% of these are girls, and most of them are from an underprivileged background.
Due to the narrow mindset of their families, girls have always lagged behind in education as compared to the boys. Girls from such backgrounds become a victim of child marriage, dowry and maternal health etc. whereas education gives an equal opportunity to the women to take care of themselves and their families in a better way.
With a thought process to empower and support the underprivileged, Kudroli Group started Kudroli Foundation a not-for-profit organization focused on improving the lives of the girl child and geriatrics patients.
I am blessed to see healthy older adults in the age group of 70 and above. Some seniors are living on their own, flourishing and enjoying all the phases of life. Unfortunately, I also came across some elders with common geriatric problems like immobility, instability, incontinence and impaired intellect/ memory. Spending time with them to solve their difficulties, I go home feeling both exhausted and contented and questioning what tomorrow will bring.
Cultivating the well being of people in need is the driving force to stimulate energy level. It has helped me to deepen my vision, awareness and compassion to spread out the light of optimism and cheerfulness in the community.
